January 5, 2016 by Jim Stephenson

Mornings can mean completely different things to different people. In Ante Meridiem (a publication submitted to our Mobile Library in 2015), Richard Higgenbottom of Tide Press invited a group of photographers from around the world to respond to that particular time of day visually. The results are beautiful. We spoke to Richard about the process of putting the publication together. Can you introduce us to Ante Meridiem? Ante Meridiem is a collaborative photographic work themed around morning time. The idea was […]

Open Call & Event: The Heart Grows Fonder with Portrait Salon

November 2, 2015 by Jim Stephenson

I / LAND is a new collaboration between Miniclick and Portrait Salon to create all-day events in London and Tokyo to coincide with Portrait Salon’s fifth anniversary. The I / LAND project is a participatory, submissions-based event that culminates in a community day of book making, combining the submissions from Portrait Salon 2015 with a series of submitted seascapes, texts and illustrations; engaging with the idea of the UK and Japan as island nations. I / LAND forms part of […]

Event: Cut & Paste

May 18, 2015 by Jim Stephenson

Working with Tate Liverpool, Light Night Liverpool and LOOK/15, Miniclick created CUT & PASTE, a new participatory event that responded to the Tate’s exhibition of György Kepes’ work. We were invited by LOOK/15 to host the event at Tate on their launch night which also coincided with Liverpool’s Light Night. Located in the gallery, amongst Kepes’ work, and opening on Friday 15th May 2015, we proceeded to make a beautifully chaotic mess as almost 400 visitors in one evening (and a further […]

Two years ago we headed to Liverpool to be a part of their international photography festival, LOOK, and we’re delighted to be heading back to be a part of their opening weekend again in May this year with CUT & PASTE. We’ll be at Tate Liverpool on Albert Dock, working alongside their exhibition of György Kepes‘ beautiful pictograms and photomontages. Visitors will be invited to create their own unique photomontage that they’ll be able to take home with them. February 6, 2015 by Jim Stephenson

// The Miniclick Mobile Library // Our Traveling Photo Bookshelf The Mobile Library was launched in March 2015, providing a travelling library of photography and illustration books and ‘zines and an online outlet to help market them. As we visit festivals around the country and host our own events, we bring a selection of the books that have been donated by publishers, photographers and artists, for the public to peruse. Day 24 – The Miniclick Photobook Advent Calendar, 2014

December 24, 2014 by Jim Stephenson

Christmas Eve! It’s been a great year for Miniclick and we’ve got to work with some amazing new people as well as some of our regular favourites. Since it’s Christmas Eve, we thought we’d reflect on some of the zines we put out on the Miniclick Press… Way back in June this year we published five ‘zines from five Brighton based photographers. Or at least five photographers who were based in Brighton when we launched then. Kevin Meredith took us sea […]

Day 17 – The Miniclick Photobook Advent Calendar, 2014

December 17, 2014 by Jim Stephenson

2014 saw a number of photographers heading to Ukraine to document the turbulent situation, including Chris Nunn who spent time in Kalush and published his second book from the region earlier this year. Miniclick team member, Joe Conway, picked it out as a fav for Day 17 of the Advent Calendar… Christopher Nunn first traveled to Kalush, Ukraine in February 2013 to visit the hometown of his Grandmother. This visit transpired to be the first of many. And despite the […]

December 9, 2014 by Jim Stephenson

Day 9 and Miniclick team member, Bryony Good picks out one of her favs of the year from someone we worked with a fair bit in October. It’s Louis Porter’s ‘The Anatomy of Business’… We were lucky enough to play host to ABC photographer Louis Porter this October as part of our “Another Way of Looking” programme for October, alongside Brighton Photo Fringe. His body of work titled “Anatomy of Business” examines the visual language of business through the appropriation of […]
