Event: The Miniclick Soapbox – Tues 26th May

April 13, 2015 by Jim Stephenson

Miniclick are based in Brighton but we like to think we travel well. We’ve hosted events all over the UK, plus a memorable discussion in Sierra Leone. Of course, London has been an occasional second home so we’re pleased to announce a new regular event we’ll be holding at The Dissenting Academy in Dalston, London –  The Miniclick Soapbox. Each time we’ll feature a new lineup of 5 photographers who will take the stage to do short talks (under 7mins) on […]

Publication: Photographer Writer Illustrator

December 3, 2014 by Jim Stephenson

Our new project, Photographer Writer Illustrator, involves a playful look into how the interpretation of images and text changes from person to person and how these images and text are connected. 8 different photographers each gave us an image each, which we stripped of it’s context and title before passing it onto a writer. The 8 different writers then created short stories, poems and descriptive text based on the single image they’d be assigned. Finally, to complete the game, the […]

18th June, ’14 – Reasons to be Cheerful, London

May 25, 2014 by Jim Stephenson

Every year, hundreds of photography graduates spill out of their universities, wide eyed and excited, to be met by too many doom-mongers. A precession of weary heads, eager to tell the newcomers that there’s no money in photography, there’s no room for anymore photographers, photography is dying. It simply isn’t true. We are in extremely exciting times and Newport’s graduating students, along with The Miniclick Photography Talks, have put together an evening to celebrate this. The Attic, Hackney Picture House, London.  Wednesday […]

Everyone is a Curator – Follow Up

November 11, 2013 by Jim Stephenson

On the opening weekend of Brighton Photo Fringe, 2013, we hosted the first ever Miniclick Response Exhibition at the Fringe HQ at Phoenix, Brighton with Lucy Bell. The idea was that people would be able to submit images in advance, or bring them along on the day and we would project them on to the big screen. As we were scrolling through them, we could send selected images to a printer, to be printed off and added to the pinup […]

To raise money for the book, 36 alumni and several past and former staff have each donated a print each to be auctioned online. In addition this year’s final year students are anonymously selling limited prints of their […]
