Talks: Soapbox in London – Tues 12th April

March 13, 2016 by Jim Stephenson

Last year we started doing our Soapbox event in London and they were a huge hit! Short talks by five different photographers in a packed pub each night. Each speaker is given 20 slides, with 20 seconds on each slide, which leads to some fast paced, informal short talks and plenty of chances […]

Miniclick are based in Brighton but we like to think we travel well. We’ve hosted events all over the UK, plus a memorable discussion in Sierra Leone. Each time we’ll feature a new lineup of 5 photographers who will take the stage to do short talks (under 7mins) on […]

We had a great time in Hackney earlier this week with Newport’s BA Documentary course, curating an evening of talks and discussion for them on the subject of Emerging Photographers. We put together some short talks from Jordi Ruiz Cirera, Jo Metson Scott, Sam A Harris, Alex Catt and Jocelyn Allen and followed it up with a panel discussion with Jon Levy (Foto8), Olivier Laurent (BJP), Rachel Segal Hamilton (Ideas Tap) and Jo Metson Scott, hosted by Miniclick founder Jim Stephenson. June 1, 2013 by Jim Stephenson

We’re very pleased to have been invited by Newport’s BA documentary photography course to help them put on a night at The Attic in Hackney Picture House, London focusing on the theme of “emerging talent”. Instead of focusing on their own work, this year’s graduates have chosen to open up the floor and put on a night that combines a series of short talks from photographers who have, at one stage or another, been handed the label ’emerging’ and a panel […]
