Giles Duley / Tues 15th Oct

September 3, 2013 by Jim Stephenson

Last Spring a video of Giles Duley doing a TED Talk in London went online. The video appeared all over the place on social media a quite a few Miniclick regulars sent it to me and asked if we could get Giles down to do a talk for us. Giles’ very eloquent thoughts on why the story is the most important thing in photography echoes with a lot of the conversations we have behind the scenes at Miniclick. The video […]

Stuart Griffiths / Tues Sept 10th

August 20, 2013 by Jim Stephenson

Stuart Griffiths recently released his latest book, Pigs Disco (Ditto Press). We got a copy of it here at Miniclick Towers and decided straight away we wanted to get him back to do a talk on this project for us. The book brilliantly mixes his photographs, writing and drawings  of Stuart’s “account of life in the Paratroop Regiment in Belfast during the Troubles, drug use in the British Army and ex-soldiers getting involved with the nascent rave scene” (text courtesy […]

23/07/2013 Miniclick + Portrait Salon

June 21, 2013 by Jim Stephenson

As part of our portrait month, we’ve continued our collaboration with Portrait Salon, a form of Salon de Refusés which aims to show the best of the 6000+ unselected portraits for the Taylor Wessing Prize each year. We worked with Portrait Salon founders James O Jenkins and Carole Evans last year as part of our Brighton Fringe programme, and we thought they’d be the perfect partners for an event during portrait month at The Old Market. James and Carole have curated a great […]
