Antonio Olmos Talk / Thurs 21st Nov

Our programme for the Brighton Photo Fringe 2013 continues with another artist talk, this time coming from Antonio Zazueta Olmos, who has recently published his book “The Landscape of Murder” (pub. Dewi Lewis), a series of harrowing images which document sites in London where a murder was committed in 2011 and 2012 (over 200 sites).

Thursday November 21st, 7:30pm. Free Entry at Phoenix Gallery.

Antonio Zazueta Olmos has worked extensively in the Americas, Africa and the Middle East for various editorial publications and NGO’s, winning the World Press Photo award for People in the News in 2001. In this most recent project, which is also his first book “The Landscape of Murder”, Antonio has worked within the borders of London to document every location where murder has been committed between January 1st 2011 and December 31st 2012, a harrowing count of over 200 sites. With the aim of giving a memory to what are mostly forgotten events and capturing the scarred, silent, largely unseen landscapes where great violence has occurred, “The Landscape of Murder” paints an alternative unsettling portrait of London.

Thursday November 21st, 7:30pm. Free Entry at Phoenix Gallery.
