Our day out in Hackney with the Newport Grads

June 22, 2013 by Jim Stephenson

We had a great time in Hackney earlier this week with Newport’s BA Documentary course, curating an evening of talks and discussion for them on the subject of Emerging Photographers. We put together some short talks from Jordi Ruiz Cirera, Jo Metson Scott, Sam A Harris, Alex Catt and Jocelyn Allen and followed it up with a panel discussion with Jon Levy (Foto8), Olivier Laurent (BJP), Rachel Segal Hamilton (Ideas Tap) and Jo Metson Scott, hosted by Miniclick founder Jim Stephenson. Workshops

November 4, 2012 by Jim Stephenson

Over the course of the Brighton Photo Fringe, 2012, we put on a series of 8 workshops. 6 in association with Create Studios, featuring Murray Ballard, Emma Critchley, Jean-Luc Brouard, Luca Sage, Ewen Spencer and Laura Pannack & Rhiannon Adam and 2 special full day workshops featuring Laura Pannack and Luca Sage. November 3, 2012 by Jim Stephenson

Our fourth talk featured Sue Steward in conversation with Simon Roberts about his work, how he got into photography and about his projects, including Motherland, We English, Let This be a Sign and his work during the Olympics. It proved to be a fascinating evening full of some great insights into how Simon works, the rich narratives in his images and the photography industry in general. Ed Moore was on hand to take some photos of the evening. He’s kindly […]

Maciej Dakowicz and Peter Dench – Talk #2

October 22, 2012 by Jim Stephenson

Talk number 2, in our Photo Fringe 2012 programme, was a book launch / superstar photographer combo with Maciej Dakowicz launching his new book, ‘Cardiff After Dark’ and Peter Dench joining him in front of a packed house for a discussion about Maciej’s work. The whole evening went really well. Maciej gave a fascinating insight into how he works, and how a book is put together, and the discussion afterward carried on ’till the small hours (as always!). Miniclick – […]

Phoot Camp Pecha Kucha – Talk #1

October 14, 2012 by Jim Stephenson

Last Tuesday we had out first talk, the Phoot Camp Pecha Kucha night, featuring 11 Phoot Camp photographers – 6 in America, 1 in Australia (at 4am) and 3 in Brighton – all bought together with Google hangout and some nifty technical expertise from Kevin Meredith. After an initial hiccup, Kev saved the day and we got cracking! Lot’s of inspiration and lots of laughter flying around… Miniclick Phoot Camp from Jim Stephenson on Vimeo.
