The Miniclick Christmas Party

Miniclick and Spectrum City present their annual joint Christmas Party, in association with Laines. We’ll have some top photographers masquerading as DJs to ensure the music is spot on, plus a very special one-night-only collectable beer mat exhibition from Martin Parr with our friends at Tap Takeover, AND tasty beers. Come join us to celebrate the Festive season.

To celebrate Christmas 2016 and our grand party, we’re working with Martin Parr to present an exclusive exhibition of his 1983 work, Yates’s. The exhibition will be printed onto 6 different collectable beer mats and only available at the party, for one night only. We will not be posting any out or saving any for anyone who can’t make it I’m afraid. Come along, celebrate Christmas and swap beer mats with the rest of the party-makers until you have the full set.

The work documents life inside the various branches of Yates’s Wine Lodge in 1983, now seen in almost every town in the UK, “… the unspoilt, original wine lodges, with their high ceilings and bare floorboards, their pillars and rails for propping yourself upright, seem clearly designed for the determined and joyless business of taking the quickest route to oblivion” (Magnum, 2016)

Earlier this year, our friends Cafe Royal Press released an excellent new publication of Parr’s Yates’s work. It’s available to buy here. The beer mat exhibition is organised with our friends at Tap Takeover, who organise the annual Brighton Beer Festival across 14 venues in town – all the info on that, over here.

See you there!
