17th Feb ’14 – Niall McDiarmid

Way back in May last year we took 10 photographers up to Liverpool to put on a series of short talks as part of LOOK/13’s opening weekend at The Bluecoat. One of them was Niall McDiarmid, someone we’d been keen to work with for a while. He smashed through the 10 minute time limit we’d given the speakers but we didn’t mind too much as we were having so much fun listening to him.

Since then, he’s published a book of his Crossing Paths project, which featured in our Annual (P)review Panel Discussion last month, and in our Photobook Advent Calendar. So, we’re very pleased to say he’ll be doing a free, full length talk for us in Brighton on Monday Feb 17th.

Monday Feb 17th. Doors at 6pm, talk starts at 7pm. Free Entry at The Old Market, Brighton.

Niall has been an editorial photographer since graduating from the London College of Printing in 1993. He works for magazines and book publishers in the UK, Europe and US.

In January 2011 he began the Crossing Paths project, photographing people he met as he travelled across Britain. The series has been profiled widely by photography blogs, news websites and magazines and was awarded a Lucie International Photography Award in 2012.

A book of the project was published in 2013.
