After a short hiatus, Bristol Miniclick is back! This September, Clare Hewitt will be joining us to talk about her practice and share work from ‘Everything in the forest is the forest’.
Clare Hewitt is a photographer based in Birmingham, a Senior Lecturer in Photography at UWE Bristol, and Archivist for Vanley Burke with Art360 Foundation. After completing a degree in Law at Oxford Brookes University, Clare went on to study Commercial Photography at the Arts University Bournemouth.
Her work, which often focuses on loneliness and isolation, has been selected for awards including the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize, Magenta Foundation’s Flash Forward, the British Journal of Photography’s Portrait of Britain, and the Royal Photographic Society’s International Photography Exhibition. Clare was the recipient of the GRAIN Bursary Award 2019.
Her clients include The New Yorker, Oxfam, Guardian, Save the Children, The Wire and New Statesman. Clare has exhibited work at The National Portrait Gallery, The Royal Albert Hall, Palace of Westminster, MAC, and her project ‘Everythingin the forest is the forest’ will be shown at Landskrona Foto Festival, Sweden, in September 2022.
